Near the poles, the sun may not rise or set on certain dates. The calculator shows Polar day (midnight sun) or Polar night as appropriate.
All calculations use the NOAA solar algorithm based on Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms. Results are accurate to within one minute for locations between 72°N and 72°S.
